The Ann Arbor Bonsai Society was founded in 1970.

The purpose of The Ann Arbor Bonsai Society shall be to promote knowledge, appreciation, and practice of the art of bonsai to its members and to the general public through meetings, lectures, workshops, exhibitions, publications or other means.

The Society holds regular meetings, workshops, an annual show and several informal gatherings for members and their guests. Meetings are held monthly, with the exception of December, on the last Wednesday of the month. All meetings are held in the Auditorium at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens on Dixboro Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Programming typically begins at 7:30, but members usually gather prior to socialize and share knowledge.

Annual Show

October 4th-5th, 2008 AABS Bonsai Show Saturday and Sunday Location: Matthaei Botanical Gardens, Ann Arbor, Michigan

Annual showing of Ann Arbor Bonsai Society member's trees. Over 100 beautiful trees from all sizes and species will be on display. Workshops, demonstrations and vendors, will be available. Visitors may vote in the People's Choice for their favorite bonsai selections from different categories. The 2008 AABS Bonsai Show will be concurrent with the Flora and Fauna Show at Matthaei Bontanical Gardens.
