The Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living assists people with disabilities and their families in living full and productive lives. Our mission is to assure the equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living and economic self-sufficiency of people with disabilities in our community.

Carolyn Grawi is Director of Advocacy and Education.

The Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living utilizes the independent living model, a well-demonstrated and effective four-pronged advocacy and service delivery strategy. Fueled by a consumer-driven philosophy, we provide four core services required of all Centers for Independent Living along with several other services. The four core services are: Information and Referral (I&R), Peer Support, Advocacy, and Independent Living Skill Development. The cornerstone of our approach requires that services are provided by people with disabilities for people with a full range of physical, cognitive, sensory (hearing and vision), and/or mental and emotional disabilities.
