On March 15, 2012, an EF-3 tornado hit Dexter, Michigan. Sirens went off at 5:09 p.m, and the tornado touched down at about 5:33 p.m. No one was killed or seriously injured in the storm.
The National Weather Service in White Lake Township announced Friday the ratings for the three Michigan tornadoes, including the EF-3 that touched down in Dexter Thursday evening, which was the most severe. The storm had maximum wind speeds of 135 to 140 miles per hour and a path more than seven miles long and about 800 yards wide, according to the service's storm damage survey. (Detroit News)
