Metzgers is one of two German restaurants in Ann Arbor, the other being The Heidelberg. They are open for lunch and dinner.
Metzgers isn't actually in Ann Arbor proper anymore. After closing shop downtown some years ago, they reopened just north of I-94 on Zeeb Road, in Baxter's Plaza in Scio Township.
The food is great, if you like German food. If you don't, they also have a selection of Americanish dishes and seafood. And an omelet. Prices range from $12-25, must things are around $17. The Omelet is $6.95.
In the bar, they have a half-dozen German beers on tap. Their mixed drinks are huge, bigger even than Knight's. The Manhattan is pretty perfect on the rocks, and you only need one.
It's pretty busy there between 6 and 8 most nights. They take reservations though.
"Join us for your Birthday! If it is your birthday we will give you 50% off two entrées plus a free dessert for the one having the birthday. Proof of your birthday is required."

The “Wurst” Platte was a favorite. This huge entrée comes with bratwurst, knackwurst, and mettwurst sausages (made to Metzgers’ specifications by two Detroit suppliers) and sides of sauerkraut and spätzle with gravy. The bratwurst in particular earned raves for flavor.
