Korybalski, who earned a BSME (1969), a MSEME (1972), and a MBA (1980), all from U-M, was a co-founder of Mechanical Dynamics, Inc. (MDI), an Ann Arbor-based software company. While an undergraduate in ME, Korybalski studied under former professor Milt Chace, who was doing seminal work in the use of computers in engineering design and development. Ultimately, Korybalski, Chace and Research Associate John Angell co-founded MDI in 1977, and the company went on to become an industry leader in virtual prototyping.
