Obituary

Stivers, Scott Dexter, MI Scott Stivers, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, November 3. He was born November 9, 1938 in Olin, IA, the son of Leon and Nellie (Dillavou) Stivers. On August 11, 1957, he married his childhood sweetheart, Kathryn (Kathy) Andreesen in Monticello, IA, and she survives. At the age of 20, Scott graduated from Purdue with his degree in industrial engineering. He worked for Ford Motor Company in Ypsilanti from 1962 through 1976 before becoming vice president of Dynamation in Ann Arbor. He retired from Dynamation in 1996 and founded Invertech, Inc., with longtime friend and partner Lance Ennis, which is still in operation. Scott was an avid pilot and played numerous musical instruments, including guitar, banjo, trumpet, piano, concertina, and pretty much anything else he put his mind to learning. In addition to his wife and best friend of 53 years, Scott's smile and sense of humor will be missed by son Dan and daughter Sherry, grandchildren Laura, Kelly (Shawn), Anna, Jack, and Krin, and great-grand-children Addison Marie and Aiden. He is also survived by sister Colleen Rinehart, along with countless friends and neighbors. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 7, from 12-2 p.m., at Hosmer Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 3410 Broad St., Dexter, with the service to follow at 2 p.m. In place of flowers, Scott's family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
