2012

  • Near North. Proposed affordable housing on N Main St; the developer, Avalon Housing, backed away from the project after a change to the floodplain put federal funding for it in question. See Avalon Housing: Near North Won't Work, August 31, 2012, Ann Arbor Chronicle.
  • The Gallery. Proposed condos on the site of the old St. Nicholas Church. The developer, Michael Concannon, went into foreclosure on the property, and it is slated for demolition. See Rezoning process for N Main site on agenda, August 19, 2012, Ann Arbor Chronicle.
  • Fuller Road Station In February 2012, the University of Michigan and the City of Ann Arbor announced that they would not proceed on the parties' plan to build a parking structure on parkland located on Fuller Road, east of Medical Center Drive. [1] The plan to build the parking structure was the subject of a memorandum of understanding between the City and University, which was approved by the City on November 5, 2009.

2011

  • Library Lot Conference Center On April 4, 2011, City Council formally ended the request for proposal (RFP) process for the City-owned property directly north of the downtown branch library. [2] Until this action, the favored proposal called for a privately owned hotel and a heavily subsidized conference center. [3]
  • 42 North. The site plan for a student housing project at 1430 S. Maple Road (near Pauline Boulevard) expired in October 2011. [4] The site plan had been approved on a 7 to 4 vote of the City Council in September 2008. [5]
