History

The YOSC was originally formed in 1960 by Bud Dornbos as a winter counterpart to the Chippewa Hills Swim and Tennis Club. It was then known as the Ypsilanti Swim Club. The club has grown in recent years to about 120 total swimmers and 30 USS swimmers. The mascot of the YOSC is an Otter and the colors are blue and gold.
