Japanese Blossoms at the corner of Shasta and Esplanade

Japanese Blossoms in Shasta Plaza is owned by Yuka Caspary, born and raised in Japan, who also worked at Gen Kai for 17 years¹. The restaurant has many varieties of nigiri and maki sushi to choose from and offer "Fusion" dishes such as Hamachi Carpachio and Hemp Seed Ahi Salad. Or order one of three "Party Plates" to go with a variety of sushi. Compared to other sushi restaurants, they're fairly inexpensive with most rolls and nigiri costing about $5 each. In addition, they have 24 special maki rolls that cost from $6 to $11. If you're not in the mood for sushi, there are choices of Beef Ribs, Salmon Steaks, Udon and Donburi dishes. Finally, they offer a variety of deserts including Signature Cheese Cake, Tempura Ice Cream, Mandarin Orange and Lemon Grass Creme Brulee, and green tea ice cream. Also offering Saki Tasting Flight Dinners.

Japanese Blossoms will deliver, with a four dollar charge, if the total is over fifty delivery is free of charge. Additionally they can cater or even teach a class on making sushi at home or elsewhere. The restaurant can also accommodate larger parties.

I have found Japanese Blossoms to be 1) cheaper than Raw Bar 2) better service than Katsus 3) better tasting than Rice bowl. For me it is on par with Gen Kai as top sushi restaurant in Chico. —63.145.177.85

2009-04-17 13:43:27   Awesome sushi. My favorite place in town. The employees are always friendly and the fish is always fresh. Awesome sake, great sushi, what else can you ask for. Also, they have happy hour Monday-Thursday from 5-6p.m.; they offer half-price on some rolls and some sake and beer. Best in town and at a great price. —76.252.251.121

2009-07-08 21:58:06   The best sushi in Chico, I love it! My favorite is the Killer Roll with sweet chill sauce. There have been times where the sushi is slow to come out, but the servers have always been friendly and helpful. Always very fresh, always good. —Maycat
