Thai Basil, formerly known as Thai House, is located downtown. They have a variety of Thai salads including Som-Tom (Papaya Salad), and of course a variety of stirfry, curries, and noodles. Meals can come with either tofu, chicken, beef, fish (salmon or snapper), and seafood (i.e., prawns, scallops). The restaurant offers seasonal specials and their fried sweet potatoes with peanut sauce seems to be pretty popular. Thai Basil has desserts, a variety of tea and Thai beverages such as Thai Tea, and of course beer.

Vegans have been known to dine here so it's safe so long as you ensure that there is no meat such as seafood or fish/oyster sauce in your meal.

The owners of Thai House sold the business to their employees and thus arrived Thai Basil.

2009-04-03 19:41:08   I had their Spicy Noodles with Tofu tonight. I asked for hot and I got hot! Thank goodness! Service was prompt. In fact the server had a nice habit of waiting for dishes at the kitchen and brought them immediately. It was nice to not feel rushed as they didn't bring out the check until I was completely finished. I think this is the best downtown Thai restaurant. —RyanMikulovsky
