Anthony Neely was Detroit Mayor Dave Bing's press secretary for 10 months in 2012-2013. He resigned in August 2013 to launch a publishing company, Neely Media Group LLC, which will begin by publishing the autobiography of Avis Ford chairman Walter Douglas.

Neely was succeeded in his post by Assistant Press Secretary Linda Vinyard. He had replaced previous press secretary Naomi Patton.

Neely was previously press secretary for Mayor Dennis Archer and deputy press secretary for Interim Mayor Kenneth Cockrel, Jr. He worked as a reporter for the Detroit Free Press.
