Southwest Solutions is a relatively large nonprofit based in Southwest Detroit that provides social services, including education, healthcare, community organizing, housing, and counseling. It manages 30 buildings and over 600 units (google map) that include supportive housing and other programs. 

Founded in 1970 (or 1973, according to another page on the SWSOL site) by Monsignor Clement Kern as a mental health agency that would serve people deinstitutionalized by the State in the 1970s.  John Van Camp is the executive director, a position he has held since 1981.
