A member of the Ficano administration, Kazmi was sentenced on February 14, 2014 to 57 months in federal prison and a $15,000 fine for accepting bribes. When he was the County's CIO, he accepted $70,000 and personal trips from Philip Shisha, a vendor. He originally plead guilty in 2012, but prosecutors called him misleading and said his information did not lead to further charges.
