An incentive plan launched by the University of Detroit Mercy in November 2008. The University will give $5,000 for down payments to employees buying a home in one of three neighborhoods. JVS will help employees get an additional $5,000 from Housing and Urban Development. The organization will also provide ownership-related classes. By October 2011, 26 employees had purchased homes.

Focus neighborhoods:

  • McNichols Campus from Wyoming, to the Lodge Fwy., to Linwood and 8 Mile Rd
  • Corktown Campus from Grand Blvd. to the Lodge Fwy., to Michigan Ave.
  • Riverfront Campus from the Lodge Fwy. to E. Lafayette Blvd. to Brush St., to Woodbridge St. to Orleans St.
