Heartside-Downtown—known as Downtown, Heartside, or Old Town—is a central neighborhood of Grand Rapids. The majority of the city's government buildings can be found in this neighborhood, as well as various economic development initiatives including the Avenue for the Arts. The area was designated as the Heartside Historic District by the National Register of Historical Places in 1982.
