Mrs. Adelaide Booth, a resident of this area since 1909, died last evening at her home at 7 Circle Street, Saranac Lake.
Mrs. Booth was born July 19, 1888, in Holland, N. Y., daughter of Odell and Ella Fairwell Cooper. She spent her early years in Franklinville and attended nurses' training school in Gowanda. From 1909 to 1915 she was on the nursing staff at Ray Brook Hospital. On Dec. 20, 1911 she was married to Edwin J. Booth who survives her.
Their son, Edwin C. Booth, was the first Saranac Lake man to become a World War II casualty.
Survivors besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Alice Melvin of Lake Placid; a son George R. of Plattsburgh; and a grandson, James E. Melvin of Lake Placid.
Mrs. Booth was a charter member of Zenith Court 65, Order of Amaranth, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Lend-A-Hand Society and the Saranac Lake Presbyterian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Fortune Funeral Home. Dr. Lionel R. Driscoll, pastor of the Saranac Lake Methodist Church, will conduct the service. Interment will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
