SARANAC LAKE — Alvin S. Whitman, 70, for 30 years superintendent of highways for the town of Harrietstown, died Sunday at Saranac Lake General hospital after illness of two months. His survivors include a son, Lieut. George K. Whitman, Fort McClellan, Ala., a daughter, Mrs. Frank Pendor, Schroon Lake, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Martin of Saranac Lake.
