Anker Emil Halvorsen was one of the Norwegian Sailors who cured in Saranac Lake during World War II. He was an able seaman and gunner from Bergen, Norway, who went to sea in the summer of 1939.

On 8/24/1943, Dr. J. N. Hayes saw Anker Halvorsen from Bergen, Norway, who was a seaman, age 22. His address in Saranac Lake was 90 Riverside Drive. 1

Halvorsen died at the Spears Sanatorium after having been sick for a year and a half. He is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery with the other Norwegian sailors.
