Annie Drutz

Mrs. Annie Drutz, widow of Hyman Drutz, died at 6:30 Thursday evening at Placid Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for three days. She was 86 years of age.

Mrs. Drutz was born April 15, 1884 in Vilna, Russia, a daughter of Jacob and Rachel Ginsberg. She and her husband came to Saranac Lake in 1926 and opened a grocery store at 103 Broadway. The store location was moved twice, finally, in 1937, to Bloomingdale Avenue where the family continued to operate it until 1966.

For the past year she had been a resident at Uihlein Mercy Center and previous to that had lived in Forest Hills.

Survivors are: two sons, Joseph of Saranac Lake and Solomon of Forest Hills; a daughter, Mrs. Samuel (Bessie) Redmond of Rego Park; a brother, Isadore of Rego Park; six grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday. Rabbi Selig S. Auerbach, of the Lake Placid Synagogue, will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Drutz' family requests that friends wishing to remember her make donations to the Cancer Fund.
