On May 1, 1892, Arthur W. Utting rented the Spaulding Block for a store. He had the use of the entire building and moved his family in to occupy the second floor and-two rooms on the third floor. 1 As a member or members, Arthur W. Utting and his wife, Florence E. Utting, were named in the sale of Pontiac Club property to the Saranac Lake Boys' Club, Inc., in 1917.

ARTHUR W. UTTING
It is with a lot of genuine regret that one notes the passing of this real old-timer from our midst. He was 91 last March, and came to Saranac Lake many years before the writer. I am told that he opened a store in next to what used to be known as the Bull Block, down in Main Street, in 1892, and remained there until 1908. At various times since then he was employed in various grocery stores around the village. For years, while I was living on William Street, he would always have a friendly greeting as we met. Always had a genial smile; kidded me about my early-June-grass fever, as I had told him once that every time I saw him running his lawn-mower, it made me sneeze . . . His daughter, Mrs. Earl (Bertha) Smith, and Mrs. Edith Gurley, and son, George A. Utting, have the sympathy of their many friends.
