PLATTSBURGH — Clarence Duprey, 81, formerly of Ray Brook, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 20, 1991 at the Champlain Valley Physician's Hospital.

He had been a resident of the Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh for several years.

Born June 20, 1909 in Saranac Lake — on Duprey Street — he was the son of Syriac and Elizabeth (Russet) Duprey.

He lived most of his life in Ray Brook, where his family has resided since 1913. He was the last surviving brother of eight, who with their father, were self employed carpenters, and were responsible for the building of the many tourist cottages known as Duprey's in Ray Brook.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel, who died in 1980.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. John (Ann) Russ of Niagara Falls, and Mrs. John (Alice) Keough of Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial is scheduled,for 1 p.m. Monday at St. Bernard's Church. Interment will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in May. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice.
