Eleanor Kaminsky Munn, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul A. Kaminsky, was manager of the Hotel Saranac from 1942 to 1947, having started as a switchboard operator.

She graduated from Saranac Lake High School. In later years, she was clerk of the Saranac Lake Central School Board of Education and was business manager of the Saranac Lake Central School District until her retirement in 1979. She was a trustee of St. Bernard's Church and a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the Village Improvement Society.

SARANAC LAKE -- Eleanor K. Munn, 93,  of 68 Leona Lane, Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake on August 28, 1915, she was the daughter of Paul and Annie (Canty) Kaminsky.

Mrs. Munn was a lifelong resident of Saranac Lake and graduated from Saranac Lake High School. She was was manager of the Hotel Saranac from 1942 to 1947. Eleanor married Joseph W. Munn in 1946. He died in 1957. Mrs. Munn was clerk of the Saranac Lake Central School Board of Education and was business manager of the Saranac Lake Central School District until her retirement in 1979. She was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church and was a church trustee, a Eucharistic minister, a member of the St. Bernard's Finance Council, a member of the Catholic Daughters, Catholic Charities and the Formation for Ministry. Eleanor was also a member of the Village Improvement Society and a Saranac Lake bowling league.

She is survived by three sons: Craig Munn and his wife Eileen of Patchogue, Joel Munn and his partner-in-life Tarry Strack of Breckenridge, Colo. and Dean Munn and his wife Carin of Teton village, Wyo.; one grandson Joseph Munn; one granddaughter Kiva Munn; sister Gloria Boyer of Newark; brother-in-law David Munn; two sisters-in-law: Margaret Devit and Janet Debbie; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her father; her mother; and two brothers: Paul and Dustin Kaminsky. . . . [details of service]
