Florence Fullerton was the principal of the Broadway School; she also taught sixth grade there. She retired in 1959.

Florence Fullerton

Mrs. Florence C. Fullerton, 76, of 26 Park Avenue, Saranac Lake, who had been a sixth grade teacher and principal of Broadway School, died Friday evening at 11 o'clock at Saranac Lake General Hospital. She had been a patient there for three weeks.

Mrs. Fullerton was born in Parishville, a daughter of Frank and Edith Weller Gilbert. She was married in Saranac Lake on Aug. 8, 1925 to Floyd Fullerton who died in Dec. 26. 1970.

She was a graduate of the Potsdam Normal School, and taught until her retirement 12 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist Church and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

A niece, Mrs Dorothy C. Lawrence of Canton, survives.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral will be at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday with the pastor of the Methodist Church, the Rev. Eric King, and the pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Canton, the Rev. Richard F. Stone, officiating. Interment will be in Harrietstown Cemetery in May.
