Frederick H. Kury was a Scripps-Howard Newspapers executive who, with his wife, was the owner and publisher of the Adirondack Daily Enterprise from 1949 to 1952.  He is buried in Morristown, New York.  He was a World War I veteran.

Frederick Henry Kury Dies At 70

Frederick Henry Kury, 70, of Morristown, died at 7 p.m. Thursday (June 3, 1971) at Hepburn Hospital where he had been a patient about one week.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Following cremation, Black Lake Lodge F and AM will conduct a Masonic service at interment Sunday at 4 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery, Morristown. Arrangements are with the Nichols Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, friends may send contributions to the Scripps - Howard Scholarship Fund, Newspaper Enterprise Association, 230 Park Ave., New York, N.Y.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gibbs and Mrs. Ruth Kury, both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and two brothers, Joseph Kury of Erie, Pa., and George Kury of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Mr. Kury was born at McKees Rock, Pa., June 7, 1900 son of Frederick C. and Mary Reade Kury. He married Dorothy Barker Scott at Wheeling, Va., March 16, 1936. They had no children.

He was a retired newspaper executive of Seripps-Howard, New York City and had resided at Morristown for 35 years.

Mr. Kury was a member of Black Lake Lodge F and AM and a veteran of World War I.
