Genevieve V. Creaser MacNeill worked as a nurse at Trudeau Sanatorium and Adirondack Medical Center, retiring as charge nurse on July 11, 1986. She continued to work part-time until 1997.

SARANAC LAKE Genevieve V. MacNeill, 86, of 86 Park Ave [old street number], Saranac Lake, died Sunday, April 10, 2005 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
Born on Dec 18, 1918 in Riverport, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Clara (Smith) Creaser.
Mrs. MacNeill graduated from Nova Scotia Teachers College in Canada and taught school for three years. She was a 1945 graduate of Victoria General Hospital, school of nursing in Halifax, Nova Scotia She moved to the United States and was school nurse for Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass. She worked at several Boston hospitals prior to moving to Saranac Lake.
She spent the next 16 years raising her children. In 1970 she went to work at Trudeau Sanatorium and later Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, retiring as charge nurse on July 11, 1986. She continued to work part-time until 1997.
She was a member of the Alumni Association of the Nova Scotia Teachers College, the New York State Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon, and a member of the Women's Auxiliary.
She enjoyed tending to her many house plants and was an avid animal lover. She is survived by two sons David MacNeill and his wife Patricia, of Mexico, N.Y. and Richard MacNeill of Saranac Lake, two step-grandchildren Marcia Furlong and Billie Jo Peterson, and two step-great grandchildren Nicholas Furlong and Julia Furlong. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred MacNeill in May 1990; a son, John Kenneth MacNeill in 1953, her parents; three brothers: James, Stewart and Carmen Creaser; and two sisters Marguente Blagdon and Rosa Mabe.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14 at the First Presbyterian Church in Saranac Lake with the Rev. Joann White officiating. Burial will follow in North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid.
Friends wishing to remember Mrs. MacNeill may make memorial contributions to the First Presbyterian Church, High Peaks Hospice or the Trilakes Humane Society in care of Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake.
