Gray Blanchet was the son of Dr. Sidney Blanchet. Gray Blanchet and Marjorie Maria Gallaway were married on December 25, 1938, at St. Luke's Church in Saranac Lake. Christmas was the only day Gray and Marjorie were able to take off from work. For the next few years they lived at 308 West 98th Street in New York City, NY.

Gray Blanchet

NEW HAVEN, CONN. — Gray Blanchet, 80, of 50 Appletree Lane and formerly of Saranac Lake, died Monday, Aug. 23, 1993 at the St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven after a long illness. Born Aug. 8, 1913 in Saranac Lake, he was the son of Sidney and Mildred (MacMaster) Blanchet He lived in the North Haven area since 1954.

A sales representative for Interchemical Corp. of New Haven, he retired in 1978 after 44 years with the company. Mr. Blanchet was a volunteer at the Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford, Ct. and at the Arden House in Hamden, Conn.

Survivors include a daughter, Shelby Gwatkin Hines of Wilbraham, Mass.; one brother, Jeremy Blanchet of Washington, D.C. and three grandchildren, Kristen G. Rataj of Boulder, Colo.; David Gwatkin of Boston, Mass.; and Wesley Gwatkin of Wilbraham, Mass.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Gallaway Blanchet; and a son, Guy Blanchet.

A memorial service was held Aug. 26 at the Spring Glen Church in Hamden. Arrangements were made with Beecher & Bennett in Hamden.
