The Harrietstown Presbyterian Church was located at the top of Harrietstown hill; it opened in 1921 and closed in 1986. The church is now hidden in the trees across New York Route 86 from the Harrietstown Cemetery, and has been converted to a residence.


The Sun, September 13, 1906

A Presbyterian church with a seating capacity of 300 will be built in Harriettstown. The location will be on the east side of the highway between the Ridgewood Villa and the Highland LodgeJ. J. Fitzgerald is treasurer of the fund and together with F. G. Tremble donates the land required. The site is one of the most picturesque in this country, occupying as it does a prominent place in Harriettstown which is regarded as one of the most beautiful resorts in the state. It is proposed to erect a place of worship at a cost of $3,000. Already the people of the vicinity have contributed liberally to the fund.

The bell on the Presbyterian church at Harrietstown will be dedicated tomorrow night.  Rev. Aaron J. Maddox, of Tupper Lake, will preach the dedicatory sermon. The bell is a memorial to the late Mrs. William A. Humphrey, of Albany.

The Harrietstown Church will hold an open meeting on Tuesday evening at 7:30, to discuss the building of a church in Gabriels. Rev. J. M. Corum will preside.
