H. J. CONLEY DIES AT SARANAC LAKE [sic]

Henry J. Conley, Saranac Lake, died Tuesday in Brooklyn. In ill health during the past year, he had apparently recovered and recently had been active in the conduct of his business.

Mr. Conley, seemingly in good health, left Saranac Lake last week for Brooklyn to direct the funeral of his cousin, William Dunigan, of that city. The service was held Saturday. Mr. Conley became ill on Sunday.

Mrs. Conley was with her husband in Brooklyn.

He first came to the Adirondacks in 1905, when he cured at Gabriels sanatorium. Recovering his health in some measure, he returned to Brooklyn and was active in business. In 1907 he again came to Gabriels, moving to this village in 1911.

He opened a funeral home on Bloomingdale avenue and later built the Conley Funeral home.

Mr. Conley was sexton of St. Bernard's church and a member of the Holy Name society. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, and an Elk.

Immediate survivors, as far as they could be learned are his wife, Mary Fitzgerald Conley of Saranac Lake; a brother, Edward, and sister, Margaret, of Brooklyn.

A Requiem Mass for the deceased was held Wednesday at the Sacred Heart church, Brooklyn. The remains were brought to Saranac Lake for interment.
