SARANAC LAKE — Jerry C. Morgan, 74, of 4 Meadow Lane, died at his home here this morning, July 29, 1993 after a long illness.

Born in Saranac Lake on Jan. 3, 1919, he was the son of Wilber and Anna (Leonard) Morgan. Mr. Morgan married Nancy C. Rogers on July 30,1957 in Dannemora.

A lifelong resident of Saranac Lake, he was employed as staff manager for Prudential Insurance Co. until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Morgan served during World War II from 1942 to 1946 in the 81st Infantry in the Pacific Theatre.

He was a life member of the Saranac Lake Elks Club BPOE 1508, the Saranac Lake VFW. Post 3357 and the American Legion Post 447.

An active bobsledder for many years, he was also chairman for the selection committee for the Saranac Lake School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Survivors include his wife; one brother, Forrest Morgan of Saranac Lake; one sister, Mrs. David (Helen) Munn of Saranac Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters, Ethel Cushman, Anna M. Morgan and Lillian Morgan; and two brothers, Leonard Morgan and Harold Morgan.

Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Friday, July 30 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. An American Legion and V.F.W. service will take place at 7:45 p.m., followed by a Bible vigil service at 8 Friday evening.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday, July 31 at St. Bernard's Church at 11 am. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or die American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
