Sergeant John Flynn was a World War II veteran; he was killed in action.  His wife and three children lived at 61 Shepard Avenue.

S. Sgt. John Francis Flynn, 27, father of three children, died from wounds received on March 4, while fighting in Luxembourg, his wife, Mrs. Leah Sweet Flynn of Saranac Lake was informed.

Sgt. Flynn had been overseas for a year. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Francis Flynn of Gabriels.

He is survived by his wife, three children and his parents. He was a graduate of the Saranac Lake high school and prior to enlisting he was employed as a mechanic in the Riverside garage.
