Mussen—At her home in Saranac Lake, April 30th after a year's illness of heart disease, Mrs. Julia A. Mussen wife of George W. Mussen, aged 70 years.
Deceased was a native of Saranac, Clinton County, but had resided continuously at Saranac Lake for the last 45 years. She was a woman of sterling Christian character, a loyal member of the Methodist denomination and greatly devoted to her home and her church. Throughout her life she set a lofty example to her children and all acquaintances. She was a member of The Saranac Lake Women's Relief Corps and the O.E.S. Her funeral was held last week Tuesday afternoon from her home with burial under Eastern Star auspices. Her husband, who has been caretaker for 30 years at the camp of Miss R. A. Polhemus on Spitfire Lake, survives her, together with four sons and three daughters. These are Mrs. Lillian G. Woodruff, Marshall E. Mussen, William G. Mussen, Mrs. Gertrude Davidson, all of Saranac Lake; Willis H. Mussen and Fremont Mussen of Syracuse, and Mrs. Nettie E. Walker of Rouses Point.
