SARANAC LAKE - Kenneth C. Martell, 53, of 32 Charles St., died last night at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake.
He was born Sept. 3, 1928, in Lake Clear, the son of Joseph W. and Mary H. (Savoie) Martell.
Mr. Martell was a life-long resident of this area and was employed as a driver for the Latour Fuel Company until he was disabled in 1974. Survivors include his wife, the former Dorthy V. Ratelle; a son, Kenneth J.; two daughters, Margaret M. and Theresa A., all of Saranac Lake; and three brothers, Ernest of Malone and Ronald and Richard, both of Saranac Lake. Five sisters , Mrs. Walter (Theresa) Babbie of Leesburg, Fla., Mrs. Donald (Leona) Jones of Nashville, Term., Mrs. Lloyd (Doris) Landry of Saranac Lake, and Mrs. Ernestine Cook and Mrs. Kenneth (Sheila) Abare, both of Glens Falls; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Fortune Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:15 a.m., at St. Bernard's Church.
Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or the Saranac Lake Rescue Squad.
