Marion D. Tremble was an owner of a general store in Bloomingdale that was originally known as Chesley's Store.

TREMBLE RITES ARE TOMORROW
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon at the Fortune Funeral Chapel for Marion D. Tremble, who died in the Port Chester Hospital, Port Chester, Thursday night.
Rev. Norman M. Moss will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Bloomingdale.
Mr. Tremble had been spending the winter with his son, Dr. George C. Tremble at Port Chester. He suffered a shock on February 27 and was confined to the hospital until his death.
Born in Franklin Falls on June 27, 1864, Mr. Tremble was educated in the local schools and Franklin Academy, Malone. When a young boy he spent some time with his uncles, Daniel B. Stickney and Edward H. Stickney, of AuSable Forks, and North Jay, on farms originally owned by his grandfather, Dr. Eliphlet Stickney, of North Jay, who was the first medical doctor to practice medicine north of Plattsburg in the year of 1802.
When a young man Mr. Tremble commenced to work as a clerk in the general store of Chesley and Barnard at Bloomingdale. Soon after Mr. Chesley died, Mr. Barnard took over the business. Mr. Tremble remained with Mr. Barnard until 1899 when he bought the grocery store owned by C. L. Sherrill at 50 Main Street, Saranac Lake. He later sold half interest to E. L. Winans and they soon opened a branch store in Lake Placid under the name of Tremble and Winans. After the death of Mr. Winans, Mr. Tremble sold both stores in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid and opened a small grocery store in Bloomingdale. He was soon appointed post master at Bloomingdale and remained there until about 1910 when he sold his business and moved to 7 Elm Street, Saranac Lake, where he had made his home until the death of his wife. He then spent winter months with his son in Port Chester.
After moving to Saranac Lake Mr. Tremble had served as representative for several granite and monumental companies, including Barre Granite Co., the Densmore Monumental Co., and for the last 15 years, Peter Nelson Granite Company.
Besides his son in Port Chester, Mr. Tremble is survived by a brother, Fred T. Tremble, Saranac Lake, two grandchildren, George O. Tremble Jr., and Miss Jean Tremble, of Port Chester, and a daughter, Sarah E. Tremble, of Port Chester. There are also a nephew, H. Beaman Tremble, and a niece, Beulah G. Tremble, both of Syracuse.
