Malone Farmer, January 30, 1918

The marriage of two well-known Saranac Lake young people in New York city about a week ago is the culmination of a school days romance. They are Lyall Davies De LaMater, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene De LaMater, and Natalie Ruth Walton, daughter of William A. Walton, the well-known hardware man and former supervisor of Harrietstown. Shortly after war was declared the groom enlisted in the Naval Reserve and is now taking a special course in the radio department of the Brooklyn navy yard. During his high school days he was one of the best known high school athletes, a track man and speed skater of marked ability. His bride is a charming, talented young lady, very popular in Saranac Lake and vicinity. She recently went to New York on a visit and the marriage was no surprise to Saranac Lakers, although it had not been expected to take place before spring.
