Pauline Hoyt worked at Kollecker's shop. Her husband, Bernard, was a caretaker at Morris Camp. Gail remembers going there and was a friend of the Morris' grandson, William. They had a neat recreation room. Their son-in-law, William Chapman White, wrote a book called Adirondack Country and sent it to Gail. Unfortunately, he died of a heart attack before he could sign it.
William Morris's son-in-law, William Chapman White, wrote Adirondack Country. White married the Morrises' daughter, Ruth Morris White.

SARANAC LAKE — Pauline B. Hoyt 71, Saranac Lake, died Sunday, April 26, 1992 here.
Born May 31, 1920, in Malone, she was the daughter of Edward and Lena (Thomas) Supernault.
She had been a resident of Saranac Lake for the past 62 years and had been employed as a sales clerk at Kollecker's Gift Shop in Saranac Lake. She later worked as a clerk at J.J. Newberry's, retiring in 1991 after 24 years of service.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Gail) Metz, a brother, Kenneth Supernault of High Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Barney of Oswego and Mrs. Phyllis Rowley of Malone; one granddaughter, Barbara Metz of Saranac Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard A. Hoyt on Jan. 6, 1986, as well as five brothers, Earl, Charles, Roy, Cecil and Lawrence, and three sisters, Viola Bellows, Betty MacDonald and Mildred Nicklaw.
Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A Bible vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and a Mass of Christian burial will be said at 21:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Church, with the Rev Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad, or High Peaks Hospice at Box 131, Saranac Lake.
