Ronald J. Harrigan was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army.  He is buried in St. Bernard's Cemetery.  He was a son of Michael W. and Lauretta M. (Aubrey) Harrigan.

SARANAC LAKE — Ronald J. Harrigan, 65, of 1 Dorchester Road, Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the Adirondack Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 22, 1927 in Saranac Lake, the son of Michael W. and Lauretta M. (Aubrey) Harrigan.

Mr. Harrigan was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. Following the service, he was employed as an X-ray technician in Indiana for three years. He moved to Plattsburgh in 1950 where he worked at the Plattsburgh Physicians Hospital.

He moved to Saranac Lake in 1954 and was employed in the construction field as a foreman for various firms in the area until 1978. He had been employed at Paul Smith's College as a maintenance supervisor from 1978 until the present time.

He was a member of the American Legion and had been a member of the Saranac Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed cooking.

Mr. Harrigan is survived by his wife, the former Ruth "Tootie" Shene, whom he married Nov. 12, 1955; four daughters, Clayre A. Gladd, Cathy L. Pelkey and Carole Muncil, all of Saranac Lake and Mary A. Abraham of Randolph; three grandchildren; one sister, Bernadette H. Derby of Malone; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours and the funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family, with Father Thomas Kornmeyer officiating.

Friends may make contributions to the Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department Rescue Squad in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
