Sanford C. Hayes, 69, of Bloomingdale died at the home of his son, Curtis Hayes, Sunday morning. Mr. Hayes was born July 3, 1883, in Bloomingdale, the son of Rawson L. and Anna Boyle Hayes. He was an Adirondack guide.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Blanche Hall, Croton; Mrs. Pauline Wooten, Champlain; Mrs. Catherine Proctor, Saranac Lake; and Mrs. Nita Rork, Bloomingdale. Also four sons, S. Curtis Hayes and Boyd Hayes, both of Bloomingdale; Floyd Hayes of Rochester, and Eric Hayes of Peru. Also three sisters, Mrs. Anne Thorne, Lake Placid; Mrs. Florence Tallman of Jamaica, and Mrs. John Redwood of Palmyra. Services were held Tuesday, the Rev. Sidney Ruck of Lake Placid officiating. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery.
