Saranac Lake Hare and Beagle Club was on McKenzie Pond Road where they had a club house from at least 1940s.

H AND B TRIALS OVER WEEKEND
An anticipated record-breaking number of entries at the coming AKC-Licensed Field Trials to be held in Saranac Lake over the weekend has prompted officials of the Saranac Lake Hare and Beagle Club, sponsors of the event, to approve the hiring of an extra judge who will be available when the trials get underway at 9.00 a.m. tomorrow.
The Hotel Alpine has again been designated as Field Trial information center headquarters. A club hostess will be at headquarters Friday noon to greet visiting Beaglers and assist them with making reservations, getting their hounds to the kennels near the training area and providing guides who will help in every way to cooperate with handlers and owners of dogs which will be in competition.
Lunches will be served at the club's headquarters on their training area during the trials, thus enabling handlers as well as visitors to remain at the area throughout the day. The club's annual banquet will be held at Durgan's tomorrow night and will start at 7:30.
Entries from 12 to 15 states is seen as very possible because of the inquiries received and interest shown in the coming trials by many Beagle Clubs throughout the country. Some owners, unable to get away from business, are shipping their dogs to the trials.
Because of the vast area covered during a Hare trial, motorists driving from Lake Placid to Saranac Lake are asked to be extremely cautious between The Birches and the railroad crossing, since dogs often cross the highway between these points in pursuit of hare.
Visitors are welcome to attend the trials and there is no charge of admission. Club officials urge that those who do attend remain in the areas designated by marshals and at no time enter the woods. Parking spots will be marked and the clubhouse may be reached from these spots by walking a short distance along the highway to Trial Headquarters.
