Sports Council Plans July Fourth Events

SARANAC LAKE—The Saranac Lake Sports Council met in the Chamber of Commerce offices last night to discuss the Fourth of July weekend plans.

Reggie Perras was elected co-chairman of the Hanmer Boat Races, and it was decided that the race should be held on Saturday, July 1, with the Fourth as a rain date.

This year the Fourth of July falls on a Tuesday.

Bill Allen reported from a Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club meeting, stating that the club will retain the beer concession this year at the picnic.

Bill Doolittle, president of the Saranac Lake Rugby Club, discussed plans for a rugby game with a New York City team that weekend. The consensus of the meeting was that the Rugby game should be held Saturday afternoon after the boat races o r late morning on Sunday (or both if it is decided to have two games.)
