SARANAC LAKE - Saranac Lake native Wells Munn, 74, died Monday at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point where he had been a patient since January.
Mr. Munn was born February 8, 1900, the son of Albert and Ida Wells Munn. He attended school in Saranac Lake and later worked for the Paul Smiths Electric Company for 13 years. He continued dealing in appliances as owner of Munn's Gas and Electric until his retirement in 1972.
Mr. Munn was a member of the Rotary, Elks Club and treasurer of the Industrial Organization for six years.
Survivors are his wife, the former Ruth Brown, a brother, Felix, of Syracuse, and several nieces and nephews.
An Elks service will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at the Fortune Funeral Home at 8 with Reverend C.J. McAvoy, pastor of the St. Bernard's Church, officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home between 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery.
