Year built: about 1930
Other information: A duplex cure cottage with a two-story sleeping porch, built by Helen Sarbanes and her husband Constantine Sarbanes, Greek Cypriots who lived on the first floor and rented the second to TB patients. A family member came from Cypress to help build the house. The Sarbanes were candy makers, and had their factory in the basement.
At one time, the second floor was rented to Sam Matthews and his family; Matthews was a lawyer, who worked from his flat.
This appears to be a kit house from Sears Roebuck in a style called "The Alhambra."
