• Green Fish Cafe is a good value.
• Top Chef (12–14 Berry Street, L1 4JF) is cheap and cheerful.
• Kimo's (46 Mount Pleasant, L3 5SD) used to be the place to eat but since moving to a new building many say it has lost a lot of its charm. The smaller Kimo's on Myrtle Street near the Uni is still worth a visit.
• Tea Gather Cafe (12 Myrtle Street, L7 7DP) is great for a quick and cheap Chinese. Also check out their all day breakfast.

There are lots of other cheap/good places as you head up Hardman Street.
