Gail Porter joins fashionistas at Liverpool's Newz Bar for Cystic Fibrosis Trust fundraiser
Nov 12 2009 by Samantha Parker, Liverpool Echo
FASHIONISTAS from across Merseyside and beyond flocked to a fashion show at celebrity hangout Newz bar to raise money for charity.
TV personality Gail Porter compèred the event, which was hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
To kickstart the evening, the hundreds of guests were treated to live music and a show from belly-dancer Sophie Mae, who competed in reality TV show Britain’s Got Talent.
Eight boutiques showcased their latest collections at the event, organised by Bananafish. They included Boudoir Boutique, The Dressing Room, Mark Melia, Saints and Sinners, Sara Li-Chou Han, Bench Menswear, ‘Fab’ at Lewis’s and Bench underwear.
The biggest cheer of the night went to Cassie Hawthorne, a Cystic Fibrosis sufferer who shone on the catwalk.
Speaking to the ECHO, Gail said: “I have done quite a lot for Cystic Fibrosis and London. When I was approached by Jo Jones, the organiser, to do this I thought ‘why not?’. If Jo can organise this and be a working mum I can come and help her. It is for a great cause.
“Charities are really struggling in the current economic climate and events like this are really important.”

Liverpool fashion week

Liverpool Fashion Week 2009 went with an amazing bang with a 70% increase in media articles, 150% increase in TV coverage and a 2000% increase in promotional activities. The event was carried out across 3 venues and generated total crowds of around 11,000 people during the week. This was just shy of the target of 15,000 people we had hoped to attract.

Due to the success of the event the management team has decided to create Liverpool Fashion Week October and have the second Fashion Week of the year officially in place. This will take place on October 26th to October 30th

With a new company at the helm of the Fashion Week in Charge of Models and styling the event it will have a more professional and slick feel to the whole event. We have invested more time in bringing World wide brands and models to the October event as well as UK celebrities. The event will be centered around Couture and High Street brands. With New designers taking control of one show. As with every event there is different opportunities for your company to be involved in the project. With a high amount of exposure and Eye balls in the high spending demographics as well as an intensive corporate marketing strategy Liverpool Fashion Week ticks all the boxes to ensure your product is in the prime place of exposure. The fashion week this year was subject to activity wide promotion campaign that covered Billboards, Radio, Newpapers, Posters, Magazines, Flyer\'s, Stickers and cars. This will again be in place for the October event with even more promotional materials and tie ups being created We also bring in celebs from soaps, TV and other areas to create the the whole ambiance of a desired lifestyle. We are currently negotiating with several A-list US personalities to host the final night including Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson
