Bass Lake is part of the Town of Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department.  The town has an extensive network of parks, greenways, and facilities.

Bass Lake Park has a an Environmental Education Center that offers native animal exhibits, a reference library, and friendly and knowledgeable staff.

A 1.5 mile hiking trail begins behind the Nature Center and follows the lake edge.  The trail is flat and mulched and has seating benches along the way.  Bags for picking up after your dog are available outside the main building.  This trail connects to other greenways within the Town of Holly Springs.

The west end of the lake lies in flood plan but the trail is above water level and there is a bridge crossing the creek.  A variety of wildlife including multiple species of birds, ducks, and turtles inhabit the lake.
