Raleigh Pro Sound was started by Kris Gulya, Jason Petersen, and Joy Courson in October of 2007. Specializing in the live sound, and festival concerts, for bands, gatherings, and parties;. They found a need for reliable, budget friendly sound services in this area .Petersen and Gulya had been working together since 2002, in the concert production industry. The company was originally founded as PA Man Raleigh by Gulya in late 2007. Petersen was then brought on board immediately, The name change took place in late 2012, after Gulya's commitment to a major national entertainment group's contract had expired.. Courson and Gulya both remain at RPS today, while Petersen has moved on to other ventures. Phil Harris of Lynchburg, VA was brought on board to RPS in march of 2013. Harris currently represents the central VA market. Courson remains in administration.

In December of 2013 , Gulya aquired Durham Pro Sound. This addition to RPS has allowed them to better serve the Greensboro, Charlotte, and South VA markets much easier. In the aquisiton, They obtained additional sound equipment, several dozen LED Lighting fixtures, as well as a moving light package. a new warehouse located in Mebane NC also came with the aquisition.(http://www.durhamprosound.webs.com )

Raleigh Pro Sound has been seen and heard by many Triangle NC folks. They also frequent the Triad region of NC, as well as The central VA areas. They have an extensive list of clients, including some notable Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill NC residents. Several of the local night club establishments also have ties  to Raleigh Pro Sound. The "Glenwood South" area of Raleigh has many entertainment establishments built and maintained by Raleigh Pro Sound,

Raleigh Pro Sound has been a member of raleighmusic.com since 2010. They Continue to be a major player in the local music scene today.
