Turtle Hole, better known at Sennett's or Synott's Hole, is part of the Eno River, sits smack dab in the middle of Durham. For more information, visit this blog about Sennett's Hole.
Visitors can get to Turtle Hole from West Point on the Eno Park (off Roxboro) and hike in. Be sure to wear water shoes to cross Warren Creek. There's in no parking area off the end of Landis Drive, and street parking is very limited (plus the neighbors don't want you parking on their lawns).
There is a rope swing but the water is shallow with several rogue boulders. Since January 2019 alone, 3 people have drown at Turtle/Sennett's hole. Swimming is not recommended.
In addition, the location is quite polluted with trash and people are frequently found drinking there against City regulations. If you visit, please be respectful and follow the posted regulations.
