Joanna Wolfe

I'm Joanna Wolfe, from Durham, NC -- I connect people with information

My professional career includes managing the web presence for Oxford University Press USA,  owning and selling a profitable hospitality business, being a senior security consultant and analyst for medium to large healthcare systems and mentoring small business owners.

Currently, I am the Director of Information & Integrated Media for TechMedia.  TechMedia is an based in RTP based company that hosts digital conference, including raleigh-based Internet Summit, and publishes TechJournal.   I wear many hats, juggle many balls, and heard many cats.

I speak locally on social recruiting, social technology, job search technology, and social media to help folks bridge the technology gap.  I help people understand the ever evolving social technologies available to them for both personal and professional use -- and the wisdom to know the difference.   I blog anemically (I confess) at jwjobblog.com where I curate a list of more than 25 local unemployment support groups, as well as resources for people who are unemployed.

I am active in the local startup community as an observer and sometimes volunteer QA person.  I am a member of TIMA and can be found at various digital marketing meetup and networking events.

I was instrumental in getting the first dog park built in Durham at Piney Wood park.  I am also active in the leadership of NCGAP - North Carolina Greyhound Adoption Promotion and The Greyhound Project both of which promote the adoption of retired racing greyhounds as companion animals.
