WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC broke ground in 2001 and held it's first event in 2002. WakeMed Soccer Park is home to the NASL Carolina Railhawks. The complex also regularly hosts the NCAA College Cup, ACC Soccer Championships, and the NCHSAA soccer finals.

The complex consists of a soccer-specific main stadium, two lit practice fields, and five additional fields. The main stadium hosts 7,000 seats, and is undergoing an expansion that will be completed in Fall 2012 to expand the stadium to approximately 10,000 seats.  A further expansion to add corporate boxes is in the planning stage. ​Field 2 has 1,000 seats.

The complex also hosts a nationally recognized cross country track, which hosts several cross country events, including high school conference championships, the Mid-East Region Championship, the Great American Cross Country Festival, and the Nike Team Southeast National Regional.
