A view from the inner courtyard. 1801 L is an apartment complex which opened in the Spring of 2006. It covers the majority of the block bounded by K street, L street, 18th street and 19th Street.

The ground floor of the complex houses several businesses and an art gallery including; the Buckhorn Grill, a wine lounge, a tattoo parlor, and Mercury Public Affairs. The apartment units begin on the second floor and range from one bedroom, two bedroom and a few penthouses. The complex offers free concierge service for its tenants. There is a parking lot in the basement. The wine lounge offers delivery to 1801 L tenants.

The complex features a large, enclosed courtyard with a fountain and access to the wine lounge patio. An open pool and spa area is located on the same level as the basement. The adjacent condominiums also have access to the pool and spa.

Several California State Assembly Members along with other Capitol denizens reside in the 1801 L.

The complex also has a limited number of low-income units.
