The newest addition to Sacramento's Gay Scene, Badlands Sacramento offers three floors of gay fun. The main floor features a large circular bar and a midsize dance floor. Upstairs is an additional bar, an oversized lounge area, and a patio that over looks K Street. By far the most unique area in Badlands is the small basement bar that is tucked away next to an oversized mens bathroom. Although the bathroom is well lit, its size and basement location give the feel of a gay bath house. One can only wonder what would go on downstairs had the ownership not gone to such great leagths to keep everything so bright. Finally, the back patio offers an additional bar set in a lush tropical setting.

Although it has not been around long, Badlands has quickly established itself as Sacramento's most popular gay dance club.

Despite its virtues Badlands has followed the lead of its rival and charges an unreasonable cover charge of $5, which is more than twice the price of its sister establishment, Badlands in San Francisco. Additionally, the line to enter Badlands is always artificially long, as the annoying "host" seems to be under orders to pause for three minutes between letting each group in. This occurs regardless of necessity and seems aimed at creating the illusion that the place is filled to the brim.
